6CV
6 = 1966 and C = March (batteries are dated one month prior to car assembly)
V = Olthea, KS (the closest Delco battery plant to St. Louis)
Example #2
A car built the 12th day of February of 1969 at the Pontiac (MI) assembly plant would be dated:
9 = 1969 and A = January (batteries are dated one month prior to car assembly)
T = Muncie, IN (the closest Delco battery plant to Pontiac)
12 = the twelth day of the month (days of the month began in 1967)
